This temporary role offers the opportunity to work on a dynamic construction site, utilizing advanced lifting and rigging techniques to safely dismantle and remove a small wind turbine. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in crane operation, and a commitment to safety standards. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient and secure handling of heavy materials while adhering to all safety regulations and procedures. Duties Operate various types of cranes, including overhead cranes, boom trucks, and hydraulic lifting equipment, with precision and safety. Perform rigging and load securing procedures using appropriate rigging methods to ensure safe handling of turbine components. Conduct materials handling activities such as loading, unloading, and transporting heavy equipment and materials around the construction site. Follow load handling procedures in crane operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and OSHA standards. Inspect crane equipment, hydraulics, safety gear, and other lifting devices regularly to maintain optimal operational condition. Assist with shipping & receiving tasks by coordinating the movement of materials in accordance with project schedules. Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations, including wearing proper safety equipment and following established safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as cranes, backhoes, boom trucks, and material handling machinery. Mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, crane operation, load handling procedures, and rigging techniques. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for operating or transporting heavy equipment on-site or between locations. Demonstrated understanding of construction site safety regulations and OSHA safety standards. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining attention to detail and safety. Prior experience working on wind energy projects or similar large-scale decommissioning operations is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and adhering to safety protocols effectively. Proof of insurance.
