In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely rigging, operating cranes, and handling heavy materials to ensure smooth and efficient project execution. Your expertise will help us maintain a safe, productive environment while adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities Safely operate overhead cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment to lift, move, and position materials on construction sites or warehouses. Set up rigging equipment, including slings, hooks, chains, and other lifting devices, ensuring proper load balance and secure attachment before lifting. Follow detailed rigging plans and adhere to OSHA safety standards during all lifting operations to prevent accidents or injuries. Coordinate with team members to plan lifting sequences and ensure clear communication during complex lifts or material handling tasks. Conduct routine inspections of cranes, rigging gear, hydraulics, and other machinery to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards. Comply with construction workplace safety regulations and implement best practices for materials handling and heavy equipment operation. Assist in shipping & receiving activities by loading/unloading materials safely and accurately documenting inventory movements. Requirements Proven experience operating cranes (including overhead cranes), forklifts, boom trucks, excavators, backhoes, and hydraulic equipment in construction or warehouse environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation, hydraulics systems, rigging techniques, and materials handling procedures. Valid commercial driver's license with clean driving record for operating trucks such as boom trucks or delivery vehicles. Knowledge of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards and best practices for workplace safety. Ability to read technical manuals, rigging plans, and safety instructions clearly and accurately. Prior experience working in construction environments with familiarity in shipping & receiving processes is preferred. Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly while maintaining safety protocols; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces when required.
