Duties Lead the guitar section during rehearsals and live performances, ensuring tight coordination with other musicians and vocalists Select appropriate music pieces that align with liturgical themes or concert programs, incorporating hymn music, worship songs, and contemporary genres Perform complex guitar parts while harmonizing melodies with other instruments such as piano, organ, drums, and additional guitars Arrange and adapt musical compositions to fit the performance context, blending various music genres for a rich auditory experience Collaborate with the music director or conductor to develop set lists and ensure musical cohesion across performances Utilize digital audio workstation (DAW) software for recording, editing, or arranging music as needed Maintain and care for all musical instruments, ensuring optimal sound quality through acoustic treatment and proper setup Read sheet music fluently and interpret musical notation accurately to execute precise performances Engage in musical improvisation and composition to enhance live performances or create new arrangements Participate in rehearsals focused on refining harmonizing melodies, rhythm sections (including drums), and overall ensemble cohesion Contribute to theater or stage productions requiring live instrumental support when applicable Skills Proven experience performing concert music across various settings with proficiency on guitar and other instruments such as piano, organ, or drums desire to learn the ability to read sheet music fluently and interpret complex arrangements quickly Skilled in musical improvisation composition to add spontaneity and creativity during performances Expertise in music selection that complements thematic elements of worship or concert programs Familiarity with digital audio workstation (DAW) software for recording, editing, or arranging music projects Experience with acoustic treatment techniques to optimize sound quality in performance spaces Ability to harmonize melodies effectively across multiple instruments and voices within diverse genres blending styles seamlessly Excellent communication skills for collaborating with fellow musicians, directors, and technical staff Join us as our Lead Guitarist and be at the forefront of inspiring audiences through powerful performances rooted in tradition yet energized by innovation.
