Job Description

We are seeking a Testing Technician to join our testing and inspection team. This position is responsible for preparing, conducting, and documenting tests on wire rope and wire rope assemblies using industrial test equipment and established testing procedures. The technician will work in a shop/test-bed environment as well as at customer locations when required. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, experience working with wire rope or lifting equipment, and a strong commitment to safety and accurate test results. Responsibilities Perform visual and dimensional inspections of wire rope, chain, and synthetic slings. Set up and operate wire rope testing and load-testing equipment. Inspect wire rope for broken wires, corrosion, abrasion, deformation, crushing, kinking, and other defects. Measure rope diameter and document inspection results. Inspect wire-rope slings, sockets, terminations, clips, and other components. Properly identify, tag, and document tested equipment. Maintain a clean and safe test area. Assist with troubleshooting test equipment and mechanical systems. Safely handle wire rope, lifting equipment, and test fixtures. Communicate test results and equipment conditions to supervisors and customers. Perform other inspection and testing duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience with wire rope, lifting equipment, cranes, rigging, slings, or inspection/testing is a strong advantage. Basic computer skills for entering test data and completing reports. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record measurements. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle wire rope and testing equipment.
