Job description
JOB PURPOSE
REPORTS TO:
Foreman / Superintendent DUTIES Applies paint, varnishes and stains and removes and mixes paint. Also maintains painting on buildings and woodwork.
PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the painting field. Has knowledge of commonly used materials and supplies. Works under minimum supervision. Requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks related to preparation and finish work. Requires excellent communication skills (written / verbal / reading). Able to lift and hold / move 100 pounds. Able to climb ladders (up and down including extension ladder), scaffolding and roofs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of on concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS
Working knowledge and experience with project plans, specifications, construction industry standards and building codes.
