This position is responsible for completing new pavement marking layouts, thermoplastic applications, restriping, and related pavement marking work while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and safety. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of striping equipment, thermoplastic application, layout techniques, and construction plans, and can work independently while effectively communicating with the crew and project management. Key Responsibilities Perform thermoplastic pavement marking and striping on roads, parking lots, and commercial properties. Complete new parking lot layouts, including stall lines, arrows, ADA markings, fire lanes, curbs, legends, and other pavement markings. Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and site layouts. Measure and accurately establish new striping layouts according to project plans and specifications. Operate and maintain striping and thermoplastic equipment. Set up and use layout tools, measuring equipment, string lines, chalk lines, and other marking tools. Apply thermoplastic materials accurately and consistently according to project requirements. Perform restriping and pavement marking maintenance as needed. Ensure lines, symbols, dimensions, and markings are properly aligned and meet project specifications. Perform surface preparation, including cleaning and removal of existing markings when required. Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and consistency. Identify and communicate site conditions or layout issues before beginning work. Maintain equipment, tools, and materials in clean and safe working condition. Follow all company safety policies and job-site requirements. Work effectively with striping crews, foremen, project managers, and customers. Assist with other pavement marking and striping duties as needed. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in pavement marking, striping, thermoplastic application, or related construction work. Experience with thermoplastic striping and pavement marking equipment. Experience laying out new parking lots and pavement marking designs. Ability to read construction plans and pavement marking plans. Strong understanding of parking lot layouts, ADA markings, fire lanes, arrows, legends, and other pavement markings. Ability to accurately measure and establish layouts. Ability to operate striping and thermoplastic equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clean, professional work. Ability to work independently and as part of a crew. Knowledge and experience with traffic control is a plus. Experience setting up and maintaining traffic control in accordance with project requirements is preferred. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights or weekends when required by project schedules. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials. Ability to work around moving vehicles and active construction sites. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the workday. Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions.
