The Production Roofer completes roofing, sealing, coating, insulation, and finishing work on prefabricated booths and modular structures. This position works regularly from ladders and on top of booth roofs to ensure each unit is properly sealed, protected from the elements, and completed in accordance with production specifications and quality standards. Work is performed in a manufacturing production environment under the direction of the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list is not exhaustive; additional related duties may be assigned. Access and work on top of booth roofs using ladders and approved fall-protection equipment. Apply roofing coatings using paint rollers, brushes, and other appropriate application tools. Apply caulk and sealants to roof joints, booth seams, and other designated areas using manual and pneumatic caulking guns. Clean and prepare roof surfaces prior to the application of sealants or coatings. Inspect roofs and seams to identify gaps, damage, or areas requiring additional sealing or coating, and correct deficiencies. Measure, cut, and install foam-board insulation according to production specifications. Measure and cut plywood and other roofing materials using appropriate hand and power tools. Perform grinding and surface-preparation work as needed. Safely operate hand tools and applicable power and pneumatic tools. Complete and update inspection travelers and other required production documentation accurately and legibly. Verify that completed work conforms to applicable drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and production standards. Properly handle, store, and dispose of coatings, sealants, and related materials in accordance with product safety data sheets and company procedures. Wear all required personal protective equipment, which may include respiratory protection, safety glasses, gloves, fall-protection equipment, and hearing protection. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including ladder, fall-protection, respiratory-protection, lockout/tagout, and hazardous-material requirements. Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, material shortages, and quality concerns to the supervisor promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other related production and finishing duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age (required for roofing operations and power-driven tool use under federal youth employment standards). Ability to safely and repeatedly climb, descend, and work from ladders. Ability to work safely on elevated surfaces and on top of prefabricated booth roofs. Ability to accurately measure and cut foam-board insulation, plywood, and similar materials. Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, production travelers, drawings, and written specifications. Basic written communication skills sufficient to complete production documentation accurately. Ability to safely use caulking guns, paint rollers, hand tools, and basic power tools, or the ability to learn to do so with training provided. Ability to complete and comply with all required safety training, including respiratory-protection medical evaluation and fit-testing where applicable. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a production team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior roofing, construction, manufacturing, sealing, coating, or related trade experience. Prior experience with caulking guns, paint rollers, grinders, and pneumatic tools. Prior experience reading production drawings, blueprints, or shop specifications. Prior experience working in an OSHA-regulated production or construction environment.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in an indoor manufacturing and production environment. The employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, odors, sealants, coatings, insulation materials, noise, moving equipment, and variable temperatures. Work is regularly performed on elevated surfaces and near active production operations. Proper ventilation and required personal protective equipment must be used when working with coatings, sealants, grinding equipment, or other materials that may generate airborne contaminants. Employees must comply with all company safety requirements and applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
