Job Description
Job Summary Coastal Energy is seeking an experienced Roofing Repair Specialist to join our field service team in Southwest Florida. In this hands-on role, you'll diagnose and repair roof leaks, storm damage, and flashing issues for residential and commercial properties. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled roofer looking to build a year-round career: during storm season you'll be our primary dispatch for roofing repair calls, and in the off-season you'll cross-train on how solar panel systems are mounted and flashed to a roof, growing into our orphan solar system evaluation program — inspecting and servicing solar installations left behind by companies no longer in business. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair roof leaks, damaged shingles/tile, flashing failures, and storm-related roof damage. Perform roof inspections and provide homeowners with clear, accurate assessments and repair recommendations. Serve as a primary dispatch for roofing repair calls during hurricane/storm season. Learn how solar panel racking and flashing systems are fastened to different roof types. Support Coastal Energy's orphan solar system evaluation program by inspecting and troubleshooting solar installations from companies no longer in business. Communicate clearly with customers about findings, repair options, and timelines. Maintain accurate service records, CompanyCam photos, and job documentation. Work safely at heights and follow all OSHA, ladder, and fall-protection protocols. Coordinate with the office and operations team on scheduling and materials. Experience Required 2+ years of hands-on roofing repair experience (shingle, tile, and/or metal roofing). Proven experience in roofing repair, metal roofing, siding installation, and related construction fields. Strong understanding of flashing, waterproofing, and leak diagnosis. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, caulking, fabrication, and heavy lifting in outdoor environments. Knowledge of construction safety harnesses, ladder use techniques, and adherence to workplace safety regulations. Prior construction site experience involving remodeling or handyman tasks is highly desirable. Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights in Florida's climate. Willingness to learn solar panel mounting and attachment methods (training provided) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation/truck. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus. Good communication skills with customers and team members.
