  • Asphalt Shingles Messing Roofing Peoria, Illinois Full-Time | Competitive Hourly Pay Based on Experience Messing Roofing is hiring an experienced residential roofer for asphalt-shingle replacement and repair projects in the Peoria and Bloomington areas.
This is not an entry-level position . We are looking for someone who understands residential roofing, works safely, maintains high-quality standards, and can contribute immediately without constant supervision. Responsibilities Tear off and install asphalt-shingle roofing systems. Install underlayment, ice-and-water barrier, drip edge, starter shingles, ridge cap, and ventilation products. Properly flash walls, chimneys, skylights, valleys, and roof penetrations. Identify and complete necessary decking and minor framing repairs. Protect customers' homes, landscaping, siding, and driveways during construction. Maintain an organized and safe jobsite. Assist with final cleanup, magnetic sweeping, and quality-control inspections. Communicate material shortages, concealed damage, and jobsite issues to the supervisor. Follow OSHA requirements and Messing Roofing safety procedures. Qualifications At least three years of residential asphalt-shingle roofing experience preferred. Ability to complete all major phases of a residential roof replacement. Knowledge of proper flashing and water-shedding details. Comfortable working on steep-slope roofs and at heights. Able to lift roofing materials and perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Valid driver's license preferred. Able to work effectively as part of a crew. Crew-lead or foreman experience is a plus. Experience with siding, gutters, or roof repairs is also a plus.
