Non-exempt "hourly status" Job title Excavation Superintendent Reports to Excavation Manager Job purpose Assist Excavation Project Manager to execute jobsite operations in completing all work in a safe manner to the quality set forth by the Company and the Project Manager. Duties and responsibilities Manages site operation of grading and utilities for jobsite from start to finish Reads, understands, and interprets blueprints Manages jobsite staffing and offsite contractors to communicate completion of work Possess knowledge of earthen materials and how they can be utilized in an effective manner Complete daily status paperwork on job completion Uses equipment to prepare building sites for exterior site concrete such as parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and loading docks. Help instruct and teach field staff Maintains equipment and preforms minor mechanic work as needed General labor to include demolition, moving materials, and job site clean up Utilize company email, phone, and GPS for communication Ability to work independently and as a team member Communicate with Project Manager and follow directions Other miscellaneous labor tasks as assigned Education and Experience High school diploma or GED is required Minimum 5 years equipment operating experience and superintendent experience required Qualifications Experience with Topcon GPS required Civil construction experience required Knowledge of trench safety required Intermediate math skills to calculate measurements and conversions Knowledge of elevations and utilizing grading laser and tape measure Basic computer skills to utilize email and GPS Positive attitude and communication Able to successfully follow verbal instructions Excellent attention to detail Adapt to change well A good team player Class E license required. CDL class A preferred Working conditions Working conditions at William's Construction may include normal office conditions. Some positions may include enduring hot weather, standing for extended periods of time on concrete flooring, dirt and lifting heavy objects to waist height and/or above the head. Hire may be required to endure the elements. This could include being out in foul weather. Physical requirements This position is expected to endure up to 8 hours of standing and walking on concrete or uneven ground on jobsites. Site work including climbing on stairs and ladders.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds Condition of Employment Successful candidate may need to submit to random and/or DOT drug testing throughout employment and successfully pass a background check.
