Learn a Trade. Move Up. Summit Basement Company is growing, and we're looking for dependable, hardworking people to join our field team. No construction experience is required. We will train the right person. We're not looking for someone who already knows everything about basement waterproofing or foundation repair. We're looking for people who show up, work hard, learn quickly, take pride in what they do, and want an opportunity to advance. If that's you, we'll teach you the rest. We are constantly looking for our next skilled installers and crew leaders. Advancement at Summit isn't based solely on seniority. Employees who learn quickly, take responsibility, demonstrate leadership, and consistently perform can move up quickly. What You'll Do Our crews repair and improve homes throughout Northeast Ohio. Depending on the project, you may help with: Basement waterproofing Foundation repair Concrete demolition and removal Digging and trenching Drainage systems Sump pump installations Structural repairs Crawlspace work Exterior excavation Loading and unloading materials Operating hand and power tools Protecting customers' homes and property Jobsite cleanup You'll start by working alongside experienced crew members and learning our installation methods, tools, safety procedures, and quality standards. Our goal is for a motivated new employee to become semi-independent on routine tasks within approximately 90 days. This Is Physical Work We want applicants to understand the job before accepting it. You'll work in basements, crawlspaces and outdoors. Some days involve digging, carrying materials, breaking concrete, moving stone, working around dirt and mud, and repeatedly going up and down basement stairs. Conditions can be hot, cold, dusty, wet or dirty depending on the project. If you're looking for a job where you can stand around, spend the day on your phone, or avoid physical work, this probably isn't the right position for you. If you enjoy working with your hands, staying active, learning new skills, and being able to look back at what your team accomplished at the end of the day, you may fit in very well here. Schedule Monday through Friday Employees report to Summit Basement Company headquarters in Akron for our 7:00 AM morning brief . Crews prepare and load their trucks and then travel together to the day's jobsites. Our target work window is generally 7:00 AM-5:00 PM , although finish times vary depending on the project. Some days finish earlier. Occasional Saturdays or additional hours may be necessary when a project runs over or needs to be completed. Reliable transportation to our Akron headquarters is required. What We're Looking For Construction experience is helpful, but not required . We're more interested in finding someone who: Shows up consistently and on time Comes to work ready to work Has a positive attitude Works with a sense of urgency Can handle physically demanding work Listens and follows directions Learns from feedback Takes care of tools, trucks and equipment Respects customers and their property Helps teammates instead of saying, "That's not my job" Takes pride in doing quality work Wants to learn and advance A valid driver's license is preferred but not required . You must have dependable transportation to and from Summit headquarters. Our Standards Our employees work inside customers' homes, so professionalism matters. Team members are expected to maintain an appropriate appearance, communicate respectfully with homeowners, protect customer property, and represent Summit professionally. Personal phone use is limited during working time. Smoking or vaping in front of customers is not acceptable. Employees work as a team and are expected to remain with their crew until released by the crew leader. Finishing your individual task doesn't mean the team's work is finished. Dependable attendance is essential to this position.
Pay Starting pay:
$17-$22.00 per hour Starting wage is based on relevant experience, skills, demonstrated ability, and overall fit for the position. Previous construction experience can help you start higher in the range, but it isn't the only thing we consider. The starting rate is not the ceiling. Employees who demonstrate reliability, productivity, technical ability, initiative, and leadership potential can advance quickly.
