Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Street Worker I and play a vital role in maintaining and improving our community's infrastructure. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, operate various equipment, and contribute to essential construction and maintenance projects. As a Street Worker I, you will be part of a dedicated crew committed to ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality city services. This paid position provides valuable hands-on experience in construction and heavy equipment operation, perfect for those eager to develop their skills. Applications received after the deadline cannot be considered. Duties Operate and maintain equipment to perform street repairs, paving, and plowing, etc. Assist with maintenance and repair of all city streets. General housekeeping and maintenance of Street Department buildings and grounds. Assists in installing safety barriers, signage, and traffic control devices. Collaborate with team members to complete project tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Other duties as assigned. Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Basic knowledge of construction practices and site safety procedures. Ability to operate machinery or learn to operate machinery confidently. Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license. Valid Federal CDL, or must obtain within 1 year of employment. Ability to work well with other employees. Ability to attend classes/seminars. Benefits Employer paid pension through OPERS.
