Job Description

Commercial RooferPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofer to join our team to install, repair and maintain commercial roofing systems. The ideal candidate will be skilled in low-slope and flat roof systems, experienced with new roof installations and reroofs, and able to work safely and efficiently on commercial job sites. This role may include leading small crews and ensuring projects meet quality, schedule and safety standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, repair and maintain commercial roofing systems including PVC, KEE, TPO, EDPM, and shingle assemblies.

Perform new roof installations and reroof projects on low-slope and flat roofs for commercial buildings.

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and manufacturer instructions to determine materials, layouts and installation methods.

Operate roofing equipment and tools safely (heat welding tools, hot-air welders, adhesives, membrane cutters, nailers).
Ensure proper roof system preparation:
substrate inspection, flashing installation, penetrations, drains and edge work.

Follow manufacturer installation guidelines to maintain warranties and ensure long-term performance.

Adhere to safety procedures and maintain fall protection, PPE and job-site housekeeping; report hazards promptly.

Coordinate with foremen, project managers and other trades to maintain schedule and quality standards.

Train, mentor and occasionally supervise crew members when acting as lead or foreman on-site.

Document work progress, materials used, and submit daily reports or safety logs as required.

Perform final inspections and quality checks; address punch-list items and communicate with the client or project manager to close out projects.

Qualifications3+ years of commercial roofing experience (installation and reroof of low-slope/flat roofs preferred).Demonstrated proficiency with PVC, KEE, TPO, EDPM, and shingles.

Experience on new roof installs and reroof projects on commercial buildings.

Experience as a lead or foreman and ability to supervise small crews is a plus.

Working knowledge of roofing safety practices, fall protection systems, and OSHA requirements; OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.

Ability to read blueprints, specifications and manufacturer installation details.

Familiarity with heat welding, adhesives, flashing detail work, and roof drainage solutions.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; a clean driving record preferred.

Physically able to perform roofing tasks including lifting, climbing, working at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Strong communication skills, punctuality and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer service.
