Job Description

Ohio Chimney Co is looking to add a few more skilled laborers to our team. We've been a family owned business since 1981, and the current owner is a third generation mason and certified chimney sweep! We are looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our team and provide excellent service to our amazing customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direction and oversight to their assigned crew and ensuring execution of the daily needed tasks at their assigned repair job. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail. We prefer a candidate who has a background in some type of trades environment. The candidate must be receptive to constructive feedback and be coachable, as this industry is highly specialized and requires specific terminology, knowledge, and execution in the field. We are looking for someone who is a bit of a jack of all trades but who just hasn't found their perfect fit in the trades they've tried, wants to learn and grow in a new trade, or someone who has specific chimney and hearth industry knowledge. Above all, you must have a great work ethic and sense of humor. We love to have a good time while getting our work done.
Potential responsibilities:
Overseeing and assisting with repair, rebuild, and demolition of chimneys Ensuring adherence to company SOP's, guidelines, and regulations to complete a variety of jobs Ability to follow, complete, and train others on an OJT with defined goalposts Willingness to learn a variety of tasks from teardowns, rebuilds, liner installs, minor and major masonry repairs, full rip and replace, unit install in a variety of fuels (wood, gas, pellet, propane, electric, etc.), and more. Scaffold building and tear down Roofing and flashing Continuous learning opportunities, including the opportunity to become certified within the trade Advise customers on the safety and usability of their chimneys, appliances and flues Willingness to wear many hats and learn more about this specialized industry Any other duties as assigned by management Relevant previous experience includes, but is not limited to: Experience in an HVAC/plumbing/electric/roofing/related trade environment Experience in sales Experience in masonry Leadership in a trades environment
Qualifications:
High School Diploma Valid Driver's License (required) Good Verbal Communication Good Physical Health able to lift up to 80lbs

$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
