Job Description

The Northwest College of Construction (NWCOC) is seeking a part-time Roofer Instructor to join our team. This position involves teaching from 6:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, during select weeks from November through April. The ideal candidate will be able to share the instructor load by teaching a specific level in a single term or throughout the school year.
Technical Roofer Experience Required Position:
    Installation:
    proficient in installing various types of roofing systems
      Repair and Maintenance:
      Experienced in diagnosing roofing issues and performing necessary repairs and maintenance
        Safety Protocols:
        Knowledgeable about OSHA standards and best safety practices in roofing to ensure a safe working environment
          Material Knowledge:
          Understanding of different roofing materials and their properties, applications, and limitations.
            Tool Proficiency:
            Skilled in using a variety of roofing tools and equipment, including nail guns, torches, ladders, and safety harnesses
            Required Skills, Abilities, Knowledge & Expertise:
            • Proof of journey level experience for a minimum of three (3) years in the trade
            • Organizational skills
            • Strong written and oral communication skills
            • Basic computer skills
            • Patience and adaptability
            • Enthusiasm for mentoring and guiding apprentices in their professional development
            • Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required
            • Preference is given to graduates of approved apprenticeship programs
            • Attendance at instructor meetings is required
            • Paid attendance at an Instructor Certification Training Program class is required before teaching
