Duties Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools to ensure proper fit and installation. Install various roofing systems including shingles, metal panels, flat roofs, and specialty materials following blueprints and schematics. Inspect roofs for damage or wear, perform repairs or replacements as needed to maintain structural integrity. Prepare roofing surfaces by cleaning, removing old materials, and applying underlayment or insulation layers. Use heavy lifting techniques safely to transport materials such as shingles, metal sheets, or concrete forms to elevated work areas. Read blueprints and schematics to determine the correct placement of roofing components and accessories. Perform related tasks such as caulking seams, trimming flashing, applying stucco finishes where applicable, and assisting with restoration or remodeling projects. Experience Proven construction site experience with a focus on roofing projects. Skilled in using hand tools (hammers, chisels), power tools (nail guns, drills), and fabrication equipment. Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to roofing systems. Familiarity with construction estimating processes for material procurement and project planning. Experience in related trades such as carpentry (including trim carpentry and frame carpentry), masonry, plumbing, welding, or tile laying is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during installation or repair work. Hands-on experience with metal stud framing, concrete forming, masonry work, or restoration projects enhances your versatility on-site.
