Hampton, Virginia. Local candidates are preferred. What You'll Do As a Scaffold Helper, you'll provide support to lead builders and scaffold builder/carpenters by handling and organizing scaffolding materials, maintaining work areas, and assisting with other supportive duties. This role does not independently erect, dismantle, or modify scaffolding, but requires working on and around scaffold structures while following all applicable safety procedures. Essential Responsibilities Support lead builders and scaffold builder/carpenters with daily scaffolding operations. Pass scaffolding materials through chain lines as directed. Carry scaffold components from laydown areas to erection locations. Rack, stack, sort, and organize scaffolding materials and components. Assist with measuring, cutting, and installation of plywood and wood framing. Maintain clean and organized work areas and remove debris and materials as directed. Climb scaffolds and work at elevated heights while following company, customer, and OSHA safety procedures. Maintain 100% fall protection/tie-off as required while working at heights and around scaffold erection, dismantling, or modification activities. Safely work around industrial machinery and equipment. Follow all job-specific work instructions, safety procedures, and supervisor directions. Understand and obey all posted warning, caution, notification, and hazard signs at jobsites. Work effectively as part of a team to support scaffolding crews and complete projects safely and on schedule. Minimum Qualifications Minimum one (1) year of experience working with a scaffolding crew. Ability to climb scaffolds and safely work at elevated heights. Ability to carry and handle scaffolding components and materials. Experience working in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and elevated work areas. Basic knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong commitment to safety, dependability, and teamwork. Preferred Qualifications Three (3) years of experience as a scaffold erector preferred. NCCER qualifications or certification preferred. Forklift training or certification preferred. Additional company-specific training may be required after hire for employees operating forklifts. Experience working in marine, shipyard, industrial, construction, or heavy industrial environments. Current TWIC Credential or the ability to obtain one if required for assigned work. Physical Requirements This position requires work in demanding marine and industrial environments.

Safely navigate active marine and industrial jobsites. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall protection and protective clothing. Perform work in varying weather and environmental conditions. Additional Requirements Must meet all applicable federal and state employment requirements. Reliable transportation is required. Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required pre-employment screenings, including drug screening (including marijuana), employment eligibility verification, and background screening where permitted by law. Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and occasional night shifts based on project requirements. Overtime opportunities may be available but are not guaranteed.
