Job Title:
Sheet Metal Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled sheet metal mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hanging and installing pre-fabricated sheet metal duct. You must have the ability to read blueprints, follow directions, and layout your own work efficiently. Familiarity with VAV boxes, fire dampers, and louvers is essential. Proficiency in cutting and measuring sheet metal, as well as having your own sheet metal tools, is required. Responsibilities Hang and install pre-fabricated sheet metal duct. Read and interpret blueprints. Follow directions and layout work independently. Work with VAV boxes, fire dampers, and louvers. Cut and measure sheet metal accurately. Essential Skills Proficiency in sheet metal installation and HVAC systems. Ability to read blueprints. Experience with hand and power tools relevant to sheet metal work. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 3 years of sheet metal experience on new construction sites. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work will be conducted on new construction sites, requiring comfort with working in the elements, including the Florida heat. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Safety gear such as steel toe boots, hardhat, safety vest, and gloves are required. You will work collaboratively in teams of 3-4 people. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
