Updated 08/22/2026 Job Description Job Summary Seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join aircraft maintenance and repair team in East Alton, Illinois. This role is responsible for performing structural repairs, modifications, and fabrication of aircraft components in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in aircraft sheet metal work, and committed to safety and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform sheet metal repairs and structural modifications on aircraft components and assemblies Fabricate, form, and install sheet metal parts using approved materials and methods Conduct corrosion removal, blending, and structural restoration Drill, cut, rivet, and fasten components using hand and power tools Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and structural repair manuals (SRMs) Remove and install aircraft structural components as required Ensure all work is completed in compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures Accurately document maintenance and repair activities Inspect completed work to ensure proper fit, alignment, and quality standards Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition Collaborate with inspectors, engineers, and other technicians to meet project deadlines

Sheet Metal Mechanics may work on, but are not limited to: Bombardier Challenger series (300 / 350 / 604 / 605) Bombardier Global series (5000 / 6000 / 7500) Dassault Falcon series (50 / 900 / 2000 / 7X) Gulfstream series (GIII / GIV / GV / G550 / G650) Embraer Legacy and Praetor series (450 / 500 / 600)

Requirements High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 2-5 years of aircraft sheet metal or structures experience preferred Strong knowledge of aircraft materials, structural repair techniques, and fastener systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation safety standards Experience using sheet metal fabrication tools and equipment A&P license preferred but not required

Work Environment:
