As a Sheet Metal Fabricator at Ad-Vance Magnetics, you will specialize in crafting high-precision components from thin-gauge materials. Working primarily with specialized high-nickel alloys—alongside steel, stainless steel, and aluminum—you will be responsible for holding incredibly tight tolerances in a clean, modern, climate-controlled facility.
Your typical day will include:
Precision Fabrication:
Setting up and operating CNC Press Brakes and a variety of sheet metal processing equipment to form complex, thin-gauge components.
Hand Forming:
Executing detailed, hands-on forming operations to achieve exacting specifications on specialized and expensive alloys.
Print Interpretation:
Reading and working directly from complex blueprints, job layouts, and engineering drawings, including the ability to recognize and apply weld symbols.
Quality Control:
Verifying part accuracy and tight tolerances using precision metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, and height gauges).
Equipment Maintenance:
Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fabrication machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Fabrication Experience:
Proven background in sheet metal work, specifically with CNC Press Brake operation and hand-forming techniques.
Blueprint Mastery:
Strong ability to read engineering prints with a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
High Precision:
Skilled in the use of micrometers, calipers, and height gauges for tight-tolerance work on thin-gauge materials.
Mathematical Aptitude:
Excellent math skills required for precise measurements, complex layouts, and accurate job setups.
Self-Starter:
A highly organized individual who can work independently, think ahead, and plan efficiently.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with the production team.
Computer Literacy:
Basic computer skills required for navigating shop floor software, job tracking, timekeeping, and accessing digital blueprints.
