Position Overview Responsibilities
  • Plan daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate fabrication priorities with Project Managers and field supervisors.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Perform material takeoffs and assist with procurement planning.
  • Ensure quality control throughout the fabrication process.
  • Manage shop inventory, equipment, and tooling.
  • Inventory and maintain duct fabrication supplies.
  • Be able to input straight duct and fittings into our computerized fabrication system.
  • Operate duct fabrication coil line and duct fitting plasma table.
  • Operate sheet metal shear, breaks, Pittsburg machine, and other duct fabrication machinery.
  • Fabricate and assemble roof curbs and duct roof supports.
  • Train and develop new employees.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Assist with troubleshooting fabrication and installation challenges.
  • Transporting construction material and equipment from SCI warehouse to job sites.
  • Capable of driving large non CDL flatbed truck to make deliveries.
  • Inspecting delivery vehicle for mechanical items and safety issues.
  • Operate warehouse forklifts to load and unload trucks. Possess a forklift operator's certificate.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds overhead. Qualifications
  • Fabricate/Weld items using MIG/TIG and stick procedures in our duct fabrication shop. Specifically, have the ability to weld stainless steel and black steel sheetmetal.
  • Lay-out, fabricate, and assemble straight duct and fittings
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC duct systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Plasma table or CNC fabrication equipment
  • Press brakes and shears
