Roles and Responsibilities Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and when to install a sheet metal product Recognize, setup and operate hand and power tools Assemble material to complete the final product. Climb ladders to hang duct Measure up duct work, draw up fittings, create a material list and identify standard code Assist with complex layout activities. Fasten joints and seams Modify duct work and field fabrication and understand duct fabrications Basic understanding of residential and commercial HVAC sheet metal fabrication installation and standards Communicate and coordinate with other trades to ensure productivity and problem solving Identify and communicate issues Ability to get lift training and operate machinery Assist with material installation. Communicate professionally with management, superintendent and customers Follows all safety policies and procedures. Observe, report and correct unsafe work environments Collaborate with other workers to complete project Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time. Qualifications and Requirements Must be able to work a flexible schedule (days, nights and some weekends) Must have reliable transportation Must have a reliable form of communication Must show up on time in the appropriate attire and professionally present yourself 3+ years of experience in the mechanical contracting business as a sheet metal mechanic Ability to layout and install sheet metal Knowledge of local codes, standards and job-related specifications Perform duties as required for a trade craft that might include directing others Ability to clearly communicate with the foreman and follow direction Must bring your own hand tools including sheet metal specific tools Working knowledge of local codes and standards Must have own hand tools Present yourself in a professional manner Ability to communicate clearly with Foreman and follow direction Must successfully pass a background check and drug test High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
