Job Summary The Fabricator / Structural Repair Technician is responsible for repairing, and fabricating bus cab components to meet quality and customer requirements. This role supports production by performing structural repairs, frame corrections, welding, metal fabrication, and assembly work to ensure products are completed safely, efficiently, and ready for shipment. Knowledge and Skills ASE Collision RepairRefinish Certifications or similar certification. Must be able to read and write in English Bilingual Spanish is a plus Must have obtained Welder certification 3 - 4 years' experience in similar role Ability to work independently and draw from experience with minimal supervision Ability to problem solve and follow standardized practices and procedures Mechanical aptitude; thorough knowledge of machine print reading and interpretation, Working knowledge of
Mills and Lathes Responsibilities:
Inspect, evaluate, and repair damaged bus cab structures and components. Perform structural repairs and frame straightening using specialized equipment and repair techniques. Fabricate, fit, and assemble metal components to production specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions. Measure, layout, cut, and prepare materials for fabrication and welding. Operate fabrication equipment, including shears, press brakes, rollers, band saws, drills, and punch presses. Perform MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and Flux Core (FCAW) welding on various metals. Grind, sand, buff, and finish repaired or fabricated surfaces Weld in all positions, welds flat, vertical and horizontal surfaces Reassembling parts and assemblies following repair and fabrication work. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality and customer requirements. Maintain welding and fabrication equipment in safe working condition. Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation and Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Working Conditions:
100% plant floor (PPE required) Frequent requirement of handling heavy equipment (operation) Frequent need to give concentrated attention to surroundings

Draft sketches as needed as per requirements Determine the correct method of fabrication based on project Reports to Production Supervisor
