Job Summary

POSITION / OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sheet Metal Mechanic to support an FAA-certified repair station specializing in turboprop and light/mid-size business jet aircraft.

This individual will serve as a technical leader performing structural repairs, sheet metal fabrication, component replacement, and aircraft modifications while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and FAA compliance.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience repairing aircraft structural damage, fabricating replacement parts, interpreting engineering drawings, and completing repairs independently while mentoring less experienced technicians.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform complex structural repairs and sheet metal modifications on turboprop and business jet aircraft.

Repair and replace damaged aircraft skins, stringers, ribs, spars, doublers, frames, and structural components.

Fabricate sheet metal parts, brackets, doublers, and repair components using approved engineering data.

Layout, drill, deburr, countersink, fit, and install structural repairs and modifications.

Install solid and blind rivets, CherryMAX fasteners, Hi-Loks, and structural hardware.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, SRMs, maintenance manuals, blueprints, and repair instructions.

Perform corrosion removal, blending, and structural repairs in accordance with FAA and OEM requirements.

Remove and reinstall aircraft panels, fairings, flight controls, and interior components as required.

Inspect completed repairs to ensure structural integrity and compliance with engineering specifications.

Collaborate with A&P Mechanics, Avionics Technicians, Interior Teams, and Quality Inspectors during maintenance events.

Complete work orders, repair documentation, and logbook entries accurately in accordance with FAA regulations.

Mentor junior sheet metal technicians while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.

Communicate project status and technical issues with Leads, Supervisors, and Quality personnel.

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

10+ years of aircraft sheet metal and structural repair experience on turboprop and/or business jet aircraft.

Extensive experience performing major structural repairs and aircraft modifications.

Strong background repairing damaged aircraft structures utilizing SRMs and approved engineering data.

Expert ability to fabricate, fit, and install structural repair components.

Proficient installing solid rivets, CherryMAX fasteners, Hi-Loks, and other aircraft structural hardware.

Expert ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), and maintenance manuals.

Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and Part 145 Repair Station procedures.

Previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Proficient with basic computer applications and electronic maintenance documentation.

Ability to complete a pre-employment 7-year Criminal Background Check, and standard FAA DOT drug test.

Reliable personal transportation/vehicle required.

Valid US Driver's License.

Proof of US Citizenship.

MUST have basic tools/box.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, climb, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the work shift.

Lift or move up to 50 lbs independently and occasionally up to 80 lbs.

Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions typical of Pennsylvania, including dust, humidity, rain, sleet, snow, heat, and cold.

Work may involve exposure to chemicals, gases, fumes, noise, and heights.

Must be willing to work day or night shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.
