Lead Mechanic - Industrial HVAC Installation Pay Rate is up to $30/hr and paying $100 per diem if qualified for per diem Job Description This role leads industrial HVAC duct installation on a large manufacturing facility renovation. You will coordinate and perform installation of large ductwork in an existing plant, interpret blueprints, and ensure work meets quality and safety standards while guiding others on site. Responsibilities Lead the installation of large industrial HVAC ductwork in an existing manufacturing facility. Read, interpret, and apply construction and HVAC blueprints to plan and execute installation activities. Coordinate day-to-day field operations for the HVAC scope of work on an industrial upfit project. Verify measurements, layouts, and duct routing to ensure accurate and efficient installation. Install, secure, and align duct systems and related HVAC components according to project specifications. Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and code requirements. Troubleshoot installation issues and resolve problems in the field to keep the project on schedule. Collaborate with other trades and site personnel to maintain safe and efficient workflows. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Document work as needed and communicate progress, issues, and needs to project leadership. Essential Skills Proven experience as a lead mechanic on industrial or manufacturing construction projects. Hands-on experience with industrial HVAC installation, including large duct systems. Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and HVAC prints. Strong understanding of industrial construction practices and mechanical systems. Capability to lead and coordinate field work for an HVAC scope on a job site. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in industrial and construction environments. Physical ability to work with large ductwork, including lifting, positioning, and securing materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on manufacturing renovations or industrial upfit projects. Familiarity with coordinating work among multiple trades on active job sites. Ability to communicate clearly with team members and site leadership. Strong problem-solving skills for resolving installation and field issues.
