Proman Skilled Trades is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a full-time, long-term position for an experienced professional who can fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components for commercial HVAC and construction projects. As a Sheet Metal Mechanic with our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety on the job site. Key Responsibilities As a Sheet Metal Mechanic at Proman Skilled Trades, you will: Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and fittings for HVAC systems, ensuring accurate measurements and proper alignment. Install HVAC units and related components (vents, grilles, dampers, rooftop units, etc.), applying appropriate sealants and insulation to guarantee airtight and secure connections. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to carry out sheet metal fabrication and installation tasks with precision. Operate hand and power tools (shears, brakes, drills, welding equipment, etc.) safely to cut, bend, and join sheet metal parts as required. Ensure all work meets quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations (including OSHA guidelines), maintaining a safe working environment at all times. Maintain a clean and organized work area, and coordinate with other trades and project managers to ensure project timelines are met. Perform other related tasks within the scope of a Sheet Metal Mechanic as needed to support project completion. Qualifications and Skills Successful candidates should have: High school diploma or GED (technical trade school training in HVAC or sheet metal is a plus) 3-5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic or similar role in commercial construction/HVAC Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication plans accurately Proficiency in using sheet metal fabrication tools and machinery (e.g. cutters, brakes, welders) Solid understanding of HVAC systems, sheet metal fabrication techniques, and relevant building codes Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks (lifting, bending, working at heights) in various jobsite conditions Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and basic tools required for the Sheet Metal Mechanic trade Knowledge of workplace safety practices; OSHA-10 certification (or the willingness to obtain it) is highly preferred About Proman Skilled Trades Proman Skilled Trades is a reputable leader in skilled trades staffing, focusing exclusively on the commercial and industrial construction industry.
