$46.41/hr Updated 08/28/2026 Job Description Overview $46.41/hr Job Summary Sheet Metal Mechanic The Sheet Metal Mechanic performs fabrication, repair, and modification tasks within a FAA Part 145 Repair Station, working under the direction of the Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all work meets regulatory and company standards. Duties & Responsibilities Perform sheet metal fabrication, repair, and modification in accordance with FAA Part 145 procedures on aircraft including the Dash-8. Execute scheduled, unscheduled, and troubleshooting tasks; conduct structural inspections to confirm airworthiness. Remove, repair, and install structural components including skins, stringers, ribs, doublers, and fuselage/wing structures using approved layout, forming, and riveting techniques. Complete assigned work within established labor hour budgets and time constraints. Accurately document all maintenance activities in compliance with FAA requirements, RSQM/AS9100, DCMA 8210-1D, and applicable manufacturer publications. Adhere to all safety practices, tool-control guidelines, FOD prevention procedures, and equipment inspection requirements. Review approved maintenance data, structural repair manuals (SRMs), and engineering drawings prior to fabrication or corrective action. Coordinate with pilots, engineers, and maintenance personnel to support operational and dispatch needs. Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all tools and equipment are serviceable and calibrated prior to use. Perform additional duties as assigned; occasional travel may be required. Pay & Schedule Hourly compensation commensurate with experience. M-F Day Shift Contract-to-hire position. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience as a sheet metal mechanic, preferably with Dash-8, King Air 350, Dash-6, Metroliner (SA-227), etc. OEM training is strongly preferred. Heavy check or major inspection experience is a plus.
