Job Description
Job Summary
Seeking a motivated and experienced Structures Mechanic to join our maintenance team in San Marcos, Texas. This role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and modifying aircraft structural components in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect aircraft structures, including fuselage, wings, empennage, and control surfaces for damage, corrosion, and wear
Perform structural repairs such as sheet metal work, riveting, bonding, composite repair, and component replacement
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, structural repair manuals (SRMs), and maintenance manuals
Remove and install structural components and assemblies
Fabricate parts and assemblies using appropriate tools, materials, and techniques
Ensure all repairs meet FAA regulations and company quality standards
Document all work performed in maintenance logs and records accurately
Use precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances, alignment, and conformity
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and clean condition
Collaborate with inspectors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to complete projects on schedule
Aircraft Platforms Supported:
Structures Mechanics may work on, but are not limited to:
Beechcraft King Air series (B200 / B300 / 350)
De Havilland Dash 8 (Q200 / Q300)
Embraer
ERJ-135 / ERJ-145
Saab 340 (as applicable to contract or legacy programs)
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in aircraft structures, sheet metal, or related field
Strong knowledge of aircraft materials (aluminum, composites), structural repair techniques, and fastener systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation safety standards
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication equipment
A&P license preferred but not required

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
Hangar and maintenance facility environment
Exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures
Requires standing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or at heights
May require overtime, weekends, or travel depending on operational needs
