In this role, you will be responsible maintaining, and troubleshooting photovoltaic (solar) systems across various sites. Your expertise will ensure that solar energy systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of onshore renewable energy projects while developing your skills in electrical systems and construction. Responsibilities Inspect and troubleshoot photovoltaic solar systems on residential, commercial, and industrial rooftops, carports and ground-mounted sites following blueprint specifications and electrical schematics. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot issues within photovoltaic systems, utilizing voltmeters, multimeters, and other hand tools to identify faults. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate system installation and maintenance. Perform electrical wiring tasks involving high voltage and low voltage circuits in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and NFPA 70 compliance. Use ladders safely for roof work, ensuring adherence to electrical safety procedures during outdoor installations. Maintain construction site safety protocols, including roofing safety measures and outdoor work practices. Test installed systems for proper operation, perform commissioning procedures, and document system performance. Troubleshoot electrical systems within photovoltaic arrays, inverters, disconnects, and related components to resolve operational issues promptly. Assist with construction activities related to renewable energy projects, including fixture installation and system commissioning. Install pv monitoring systems and components with a laptop. Skills Journeyman level electrical experience preferred
NABCEP PV
installation professional certification preferred OSHA 10 or 30 certification Experience with commercial battery storage systems preferred Strong knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in accordance with NEC standards. Experience reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for photovoltaic system installation. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ladders, voltmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently and accurately. Working experience as a solar technician or in a similar role within the renewable energy or electrical construction industry. Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) requirements for safe electrical work practices. Construction site experience including roofing work and outdoor project environments. Ability to follow electrical safety procedures rigorously during all phases of installation and maintenance. Familiarity with blueprint reading for construction projects involving photovoltaic systems. Experience working as a commercial electrician or in related electrical roles is highly desirable. Experience with a laptop, typical computer programs, CRM's and pv monitoring portals including SunnyPortal, Enlighten, Solrenview and SolarEdge. Clean CA Drivers License is required.
