About DartSolar DartSolar builds the world's first modular, expandable solar array for electric vehicles — designed, assembled, and tested in our Los Angeles factory. Our product rides flat on a car's roof and expands to three times its size when parked, letting EV owners charge from sunlight anywhere. We've been featured in The Wall Street Journal, and we're now assembling our first production run. This role is a chance to join a small team early and build a product most people have never seen before. The Role You'll work on the factory floor turning components into finished DartSolar units. This is precise, hands-on work — the quality of your hands directly determines the quality of our product. You'll be trained on every step; no solar experience required. Day to day, you will: Solder wires to solar panels cleanly and consistently Apply polyurethane adhesive to bond components to solar panels Shear and trim solar panel edge flaps to spec Cold-bend polycarbonate sheets using our forming tools Move light parts and assemblies between stations; stage materials for the next day's work Keep the shop clear, clean, and organized — tools returned, benches reset, floors safe Follow written work instructions and quality checklists; flag defects instead of passing them on Wear required PPE and follow all shop safety rules Requirements 2-4 years of work experience (assembly, fabrication, electronics, construction, kitchen/lab, or other hands-on work where precision mattered) High school diploma or equivalent (minimum) Steady hands and patience for detailed, repetitive work done right every time Clear communication — you can follow verbal and written instructions, ask questions when unsure, and speak up about problems Reliable attendance and punctuality Able to stand for most of a shift, use hand tools, and occasionally lift up to 35 lbs Authorized to work in the United States Nice to Have (not required) Soldering experience (electronics, jewelry, stained glass, etc.) Experience with adhesives, sealants, or composite materials Forklift experience Schedule, Pay & Growth Start part-time: approximately [20-25] hours per week, weekdays, daytime shifts Path to full-time: after a few months of training and demonstrated quality of work, strong performers move to full-time
Pay:
$18-22/hour depending on results Training provided on all equipment and processes Location DartSolar factory near Koreatown, Los Angeles (Pico Blvd). Accessible by Metro bus lines; street parking available.
