Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Field Technician to join our dynamic renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar power systems across various sites. Your expertise will help ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of solar energy assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while developing your skills in electrical systems, construction, and site management. Duties Install and assemble solar panels, mounting structures, and electrical components following blueprints and schematics. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on solar arrays to optimize performance. Troubleshoot electrical issues involving high voltage and low voltage systems using hand tools, power tools, and technical diagrams. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute installation tasks. Perform fixture installation, wiring, grounding, and electrical connections adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Operate construction site equipment such as forklifts safely for material handling and site access. Collaborate with team members on roofing projects or other structural work related to solar installations. Ensure all work complies with safety protocols including high voltage safety procedures and roofing safety standards. Requirements Proven experience as a commercial electrician or in electrical construction with knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems. Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints reading, and electrical wiring techniques. Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety standards for electrical work. Experience working on construction sites or roofing projects related to solar or other renewable energy installations. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, plumbing fixtures, and forklifts safely. Electrical experience including fixture installation, wiring, grounding, and troubleshooting complex systems. Construction site experience with a focus on safety protocols and efficient project execution. Good physical condition with the ability to work at heights on rooftops or elevated structures. Valid certifications in electrical work or related fields are preferred; additional training in roofing or plumbing is a plus. Join us in advancing clean energy solutions!
