AP / AR & Payroll Specialist (Construction)

$65,000 - $80,000 annually (DOE) About Us We are a fast-paced construction company completing over 1,200 projects annually , working with multiple crews, subcontractors, and vendors across residential and commercial jobs. Our operations require strong financial coordination, accurate job costing, and timely payroll execution. We are seeking a highly organized AP / AR & Payroll Specialist to support daily financial operations and keep our project pipeline running smoothly. Position Overview This role is responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing in a high-volume construction environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable handling multiple priorities across projects. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP) Process high volume of vendor invoices, material bills, and subcontractor payments Match invoices to purchase orders and job cost codes Track lien releases and compliance documentation Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies Accounts Receivable (AR) Generate and track client invoices, progress billing, and change orders Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain aging reports Coordinate with project managers on billing accuracy Payroll Process bi-monthly payroll for field crews and office staff Track job hours, labor allocation, and overtime Handle certified payroll / prevailing wage reporting (if applicable) Maintain compliance with state and federal payroll regulations General Accounting Support Assist with job costing and project financial tracking Support month-end close and reporting Maintain organized financial records and documentation Qualifications 2-5 years experience in AP/AR and payroll (construction and Construction trades strongly preferred) Familiarity with job costing and project-based accounting Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills Ability to manage high transaction volume with accuracy Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience with construction software (Textura, Buildertrend, etc.) Knowledge of certified payroll / prevailing wage Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Stable workload (no downtime) Collaborative team environmentBenefits:
