Job Description

Roof Lead - Solar Installation Diamond Solar Solutions, Inc. Placerville, CA (El Dorado County, Tahoe, and surrounding Northern California)
Pay:
$32-$37 per hour, based on experience
Experience Required:
At least 2 years of Roof Lead experience required About Us Diamond Solar Solutions is a family-owned solar and battery storage company based in Placerville. We focus on solar and batteries because that's what we love. We treat our employees and customers like family, and we care about the people who work here — not just the jobs they finish. This is a smaller company. You won't be a number. You'll work with a tight crew, get a wider mix of experience than you would at a big corporate installer, and have a real say in how the work gets done. We take pride in quality workmanship, honest communication, and keeping projects moving without cutting corners. Our work covers El Dorado County, Lake Tahoe, and the surrounding Northern California area. That means foothill homes, steep roofs, snow country, tile, metal, composition, ground-mounts, battery storage, retrofits, and system replacements. These are not cookie-cutter tract-home installs. A lot of our jobs are more technical and more varied than what most solar crews are used to. If you like doing the same roof over and over, this probably isn't the right fit. If you like a wide variety of work and taking on harder installs, it is. What You'll Do This role is focused on the roof, not on managing people. You'll be the go-to person for the rooftop work and work as part of the crew, not over the crew. Take ownership of the roof on residential solar installs across a wide mix of roof types, pitches, and locations Layout and install racking, flashing, and modules to plan and manufacturer specs Handle roof penetrations, flashing, and waterproofing so the roof is left watertight Set the standard for roof quality, pacing, and cleanliness Keep the roof work safe, including fall protection, PPE, weather, and site conditions Work closely with the electrical and battery side of the crew and the project manager Flag issues early — roof condition, layout conflicts, material shortages, access problems Help other installers with racking, flashing, sealing, and workmanship as needed Be ready for Tahoe and foothill work, including steep roofs, snow-load conditions, and less typical job sites Take on a mix of new systems, retrofits, ground-mounts, battery installs, and older system work What We're Looking For Experience installing rooftop solar (lead or senior installer preferred) Comfortable on a variety of roof types and pitches, including steep roofs Strong knowledge of racking, flashing, and waterproofing Working knowledge of the inverter and battery systems we install: Tesla, Franklin, Enphase, and SolarEdge Open to a wide variety of work — not just standard residential rooftop production Able to take ownership of the roof and keep that part of the job moving Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to work in heat, cold, snow country, and on roofs
Plus:
older retrofit experience, including SMA systems or off-grid Outback systems
Plus:
battery/ESS, ground-mount, or system R&R experience Pay & Benefits $32-$37 per hour, based on experience Overtime pay Paid holidays Performance bonuses, including steep-roof bonuses and other job-based bonuses Referral commissions for bringing in new work Steady work with a growing family-owned company that takes care of its people Room to grow into more responsibility and better positions as the company grows
Pay:
$32.00 - $37.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 55.0 per week
Benefits:
Flexible schedule Opportunities for advancement Referral program Application Question(s): how many years of Solar Construction Experience do you have?
