Responsibilities Install photovoltaic solar systems on rooftops and ground-mounted sites, adhering strictly to NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 compliance standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation processes. Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and roofing equipment safely and efficiently during system setup. Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting of low voltage and high voltage systems to identify issues quickly and accurately. Connect wiring, fixtures, inverters, and other electrical components following detailed blueprints and schematics. Conduct electrical safety procedures throughout all phases of installation to protect yourself and team members from hazards. Test completed systems with voltmeters and other diagnostic tools to ensure optimal performance before commissioning. Collaborate with construction teams on site setup, roofing work, and other construction-related tasks as needed. Maintain detailed documentation of installation processes, inspections, and safety checks for project records. Qualifications Valid California Journeyman Electrician Certification with proven experience in photovoltaic system installation. Extensive knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems within commercial or residential settings. Strong understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and electrical blueprint reading. Hands-on experience working as a solar technician or in related renewable energy projects onshore. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using voltmeters, multimeters, and diagnostic tools. Ability to read schematics accurately and follow detailed technical instructions. Experience with construction site work, roofing, outdoor environments, and safety protocols related to electrical work. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and fixture installation techniques.
