This is a seasonal role with the potential to lead into other opportunities within the company for the right person. No prior lighting experience is required, but comfort working outdoors, at heights, and on a physical, fast-paced schedule is essential given the compressed nature of the holiday season. Key Responsibilities Install string lights, roofline lighting, wreaths, garland, and other holiday decor on residential and commercial properties per the customer's design or a pre-set package Safely use ladders and lifts to access rooflines, eaves, trees, and other elevated areas Follow layout plans and measurements provided to ensure a clean, professional final appearance Test all lighting for functionality before leaving each job site Handle light strands, clips, timers, and extension cords properly to avoid damage to property or equipment Communicate professionally with homeowners on-site regarding placement preferences or design questions Perform mid-season maintenance visits (replacing bulbs, fixing outages, re-securing loose lines) as needed Return after the season to take down and properly store all lighting and equipment Keep the company vehicle and equipment organized, inventoried, and ready for the next job Work efficiently as part of a 2-3 person crew to hit daily install targets during peak season Requirements Ability to work at heights using ladders (up to extension ladders) and maintain proper safety practices at all times Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Comfortable working outdoors in cold weather conditions, including occasional early mornings Reliable transportation to a central meeting point or job sites as assigned Strong attention to detail, since a crooked line or uneven spacing is easy for a customer to spot Ability to follow instructions and layout plans accurately without constant supervision Available to work through the peak season timeframe (typically early November through late December), with willingness to work occasional weekends given the compressed season Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in landscaping, construction, roofing, or another physical outdoor trade Experience working on ladders or at heights in a professional setting Basic knowledge of electrical safety (extension cords, outlets, GFCI outlets) Prior customer-facing work experience Availability to return in January for take-down work What Success Looks Like in This Role Installations are clean, secure, and match the agreed-upon design with no rework needed Jobs are completed within the time allotted so the crew can hit daily volume targets Customers have no safety concerns or property damage complaints Lights function correctly after install, minimizing mid-season service calls Compensation Pay will be discussed based on experience, with the position structured as an hourly or per-job rate depending on role fit. Given the short, high-volume nature of the season, consistent attendance and reliability during the active install window is critical to compensation and future season eligibility.
