This is a hands-on lead role: you'll work alongside the crew, direct the installation, and help take projects from site setup through a clean, complete install. We install rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems, often with battery storage. We're looking for someone who has completed full installations and can make sound decisions in the field while keeping the crew safe and the work on schedule. What you'll do Lead the crew through complete residential solar installations. Review plans and site conditions before work begins; flag issues that could affect the installation. Direct layout, mounting, racking, module installation, and equipment placement. Coordinate with the electrician on electrical work, equipment connections, and system completion. Maintain safe roof, ladder, and jobsite practices. Check workmanship, weatherproofing, and installation details throughout the project. Keep the project manager informed of progress, material needs, and any changes in the field. Complete installation photos and help prepare the job for inspection and commissioning. What we're looking for At least 3 years of hands-on solar installation experience , including full residential installs. Experience leading an installation crew or serving as the primary installer on projects. Strong knowledge of roof attachments, flashing, racking, module installation, and jobsite safety. Ability to read plans and adapt to actual site conditions. Reliable transportation to jobs throughout Central Indiana. Professional communication with crew members, homeowners, and project management. Experience with Enphase systems, battery storage, ground mounts, or service work is a plus. Schedule and compensation This is part-time, project-based work . Installation days will be scheduled in advance and may vary with the project pipeline. Compensation will be discussed based on experience and the scope of the role.
