Solar Roof Lead

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Solar Roof Lead to join our growing team. This position is responsible for leading rooftop operations on residential and light commercial solar installations while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate has strong roofing and solar installation experience, understands proper waterproofing and flashing techniques, and can lead and mentor crew members in the field. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical ability and strong communication skills, with direct responsibility for the safety oversight of the rooftop crew. Responsibilities Lead rooftop solar installation activities on residential and light commercial projects Oversee daily rooftop safety procedures and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA standards Conduct safety oversight of roof crew members, including fall protection and proper equipment usage Install solar racking, mounting systems, and solar panels Perform rooftop electrical work as an electrical apprentice Ensure all roof penetrations and installations are completed watertight Work on asphalt shingle, rubber, and metal roofing systems Mentor, train, and oversee roof helpers and junior installers Coordinate daily workflow with the Crew Lead to ensure efficient and timely project completion Maintain a safe, organized, and productive job site Follow company quality standards and installation procedures Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications and local code requirements Assist with loading, staging, and material management as needed Qualifications Solar installation experience preferred Roofing experience required Leadership or crew supervision experience preferred Knowledge of solar racking systems and rooftop installation methods Understanding of waterproofing and flashing best practices Electrical apprenticeship experience preferred Strong understanding of rooftop safety practices and fall protection Ability to work comfortably at heights and on rooftops Strong communication and leadership skill Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
