Yellowball is looking for a dependable, versatile Solar Installer / Field Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking on a variety of responsibilities in the field. Previous solar, electrical, roofing, or construction experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, works well under experienced leads, and can grow into a well-rounded member of our solar operations team. This is more than just a panel installation position. Depending on the day, you may be installing a new solar system, assisting an electrician, completing service or troubleshooting work, helping with system repairs, or supporting another crew where needed. Responsibilities Install residential and commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems. Work under Solar Leads and Electricians to complete projects safely and efficiently. Assist electricians with electrical portions of solar installations as permitted and directed. Perform solar service, troubleshooting, repairs, and system maintenance. Diagnose basic system issues and assist with identifying solutions. Install racking, modules, conduit, wiring, equipment, and other solar components. Read plans, layouts, and basic electrical or construction drawings. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other construction equipment. Help with site assessments, system inspections, commissioning, and project closeout as needed. Maintain clean and organized jobsites, vehicles, tools, and materials. Communicate effectively with leads, electricians, office staff, and homeowners. Follow company procedures, manufacturer requirements, electrical codes, and all safety standards. Be willing to jump between installation, electrical assistance, service work, and other field responsibilities depending on company needs. What We're Looking For Previous solar, electrical, roofing, HVAC, or construction experience is a plus, but not required. Mechanically inclined and comfortable learning new systems and equipment. Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and outdoors in changing weather conditions. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Dependable, hardworking, and willing to take direction from experienced team members. Able to work independently when appropriate while also being a strong team player. Good communication skills and a professional attitude around customers. Willingness to learn both the installation and service sides of the solar industry. Ability to adapt and help wherever needed rather than being limited to one specific role.
