A Solar Installer installs solar energy systems for homes or larger buildings. Mounts frames and solar panels on the roof; may install and connect electrical wiring and power storage batteries.
Troubleshoot/Diagnose solar-related issues Identify, understand, and troubleshoot multiple PV inverter systems Understand and execute CAD Drawings of rooftop array Understand and utilize troubleshooting tools (Multi-meter) and software (Enlighten Toolkit) Read and consult manuals, interpret and use complex schematics to plan a scope of work, install requested improvements, and troubleshoot and correct any problems. Identify and repair improper roof flashing, and other installation deficiencies Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback. Mentor/train crew members as Solar Installers Participate in site visits and cost estimating as required Participate in and lead weekly van inspections, ensuring vans are in proper order and with properly working tools & equipment Manage/lead special projects as assigned Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC) Layout and assist in the assembly of solar modules / array, mounting hardware, and electrical equipment. Revise drawings based upon discrepancies in the field

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
2+ years solar Installation/troubleshooting/service/electrical experience Valid Driver's License Ability to work in challenging environments (hot sun, cold, wind, tight spaces, etc.). Capable of standing for long stretches of time and working at heights (on rooftops, climb ladders and stairs) Ability to safely handle tools and materials commonly found in construction and solar industries, such as power tools, ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards and other similar electrical equipment. Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs Regular, reliable, and predictable performance required Strong focus on communication and customer service Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including but not limited to peers and customers. Understand and utilize troubleshooting tools (Multi-meter) and software Must be at least 18 years of age Reliable transportation to and from work
