You will be responsible for keeping residential solar + battery systems performing at their best, while also conducting thorough pre-installation Site Assessments. This is a customer-facing, field-based role that combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and the satisfaction of helping homeowners maximize their solar investment. Key Responsibilities System Maintenance & Repairs Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar PV systems and battery storage, with strong focus on Enphase, SolarEdge, and Tesla equipment and monitoring platforms. Perform preventive maintenance, inverter replacements, module swaps, wiring repairs, and system optimizations. Address both electrical and mechanical issues to restore peak system performance. Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization Use advanced diagnostic tools, monitoring software, and data analytics to quickly identify and resolve underperformance issues. Interpret production data, error codes, and system logs to deliver efficient solutions. Site Assessments (Pre-Installation) Conduct comprehensive on-site evaluations including roof condition, structural integrity, shading analysis, orientation, and measurements. Document electrical panel details, service capacity, and site infrastructure. Capture professional photos and use drones, laser measurers, and shading tools to gather accurate data for design and permitting. Customer Experience & Communication Clearly explain technical issues and repair solutions to homeowners in easy-to-understand terms. Educate customers on system operation, monitoring apps, and best maintenance practices. Deliver the high level of service that sets Fastrac apart. Documentation, Reporting & Safety Maintain detailed service records, photos, and performance reports. Collaborate with installation, engineering, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement. Strictly follow all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and local code requirements. Qualifications (Required) 2+ years of hands-on experience with Enphase, SolarEdge, and/or Tesla solar and battery systems (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting). Apprentice Electrician license and OSHA 10. Strong working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, grid-tied solar, and battery storage. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical drawings. NABCEP certification (or willingness to obtain) and/or manufacturer-specific training (Enphase, SolarEdge, Tesla) is highly valued. Valid driver's license with clean driving record and willingness to travel within Texas and Louisiana. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Preferred Skills Experience with battery storage systems (especially Tesla Powerwall and SolarEdge Battery). Proficiency with hand/power tools, drones for site surveys, and solar-specific diagnostic software. Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Comfortable working at heights, on roofs, and in various outdoor weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavy equipment safely. Stamina for full days of active, hands-on work.
