In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing photovoltaic (solar) systems on residential sites. Your expertise will help harness the power of the sun, contributing to sustainable energy solutions while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every project. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in electrical systems and construction within the booming onshore renewable energy sector. Responsibilities Install photovoltaic solar panels, mounting hardware, and electrical components according to blueprints and schematics Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure precise system setup Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and forklifts safely and effectively during installation processes Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools to identify faults and implement effective solutions Connect low voltage and high voltage wiring in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and NFPA 70 safety procedures Perform roofing work when installing solar panels on various types of structures while adhering to safety protocols Conduct electrical diagnostics to verify system performance and troubleshoot issues during installation or maintenance Skills Strong understanding of electrical blueprint reading, schematics, and photovoltaic system installation techniques Experience working with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in commercial or residential settings Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements and NFPA 70 compliance standards for electrical safety Proven experience as a solar technician or in related electrical work within the renewable energy sector Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently using diagnostic tools and techniques Construction site experience with roofing, framing, or general construction practices preferred Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, forklifts, and other construction equipment Outdoor work experience with a focus on safety procedures for electrical work in various weather conditions Embark on a rewarding career that energizes communities while advancing your skills in a thriving industry.
