Job Description

Overview Tile Roof Lead Installer - Piecework Pay | Desert Rain Construction Desert Rain Construction LLC, a licensed general contractor based in Southern Arizona (Cochise County area), is seeking an experienced tile roof installer to join our team in a lead capacity. Position Overview We are expanding our tile roofing division and require a skilled installer capable of leading jobs with minimal supervision. This individual will be responsible for proper underlayment installation, batten layout, cutting, flashing details, and finish work, while directing a small crew on-site. When tile work is unavailable — particularly outside of peak season — this position will transition to our shingle roofing and flat roof/elastomeric coating crews, ensuring steady, full-time employment year-round. Compensation Tile installation work is compensated on a piecework (per-square) basis , allowing efficient, skilled installers to maximize earnings based on production. Non-tile work (shingle and flat roof) is compensated hourly . Piecework and hourly rates will be determined based on experience. This is a W2 position with full payroll, workers' compensation coverage, and standard employment protections. This is not a 1099 arrangement. Qualifications Demonstrated hands-on experience installing tile roofs (concrete, clay, or barrel tile), with the ability to run a job site independently Working knowledge of general shingle roofing preferred Ability to interpret a scope of work and exercise sound judgment in the field Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality workmanship Valid driver's license and dependable transportation Ability to work at height and in Southern Arizona's heat and monsoon conditions Preferred Experience training or mentoring less experienced crew members Familiarity with flat roof coating systems Own basic hand tools About Desert Rain Construction Established in 2023, Desert Rain Construction is a growing, licensed residential and small commercial contractor committed to quality craftsmanship. As we expand our tile division, we are looking for a candidate who can grow into greater responsibility within the company.
Pay:
