Job Description
Mine Site Support Technician Ruby Gold, Inc. operates the historic Ruby Mine, an underground hard rock and placer gold mine near Alleghany in California's Sierra County. The property covers roughly 1,735 acres of mining claims in the heart of the northern Sierra gold country, with active workings at a Portal site and a Shaft site. Under new ownership since 2025, Ruby Gold is rehabilitating the mine and building the team that will carry it back into production. We are a small, hands-on crew that values people who take pride in their work, learn quickly, and want to be part of building something for the long haul. About the Role We are hiring a Mine Support Technician to join our team. This is a broad, hands-on position supporting day-to-day operations between the sites. You will move between tasks as needed, which include general labor, running parts, inventory organization, supply ordering, and assisting with wiring, plumbing, metalwork, and equipment maintenance. No two days look the same, and the right person will thrive on the variety. What We Are Looking For Hands-on work experience using tools and performing physical labor Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Ability to drive to the carpool location in Pike, CA and often times directly to the mine site, which is approximately 30 minutes beyond Pike, near Alleghany, CA Willingness to work outdoors year-round in variable weather and terrain Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to take direction and work independently Prior mining experience is not required Nice to Have Forklift certification Welding, electrical, or plumbing experience Experience with rural, remote, or industrial job sites Schedule and Compensation Full-time, 40+ hours per week Schedule flexibility: 5x8 or 4x10 available $25 to $40 per hour, depending on experience Benefits Paid Time Off Weekly Safety Bonus Weekly Attendance Bonus On-the-job training and advancement opportunities as the mine transitions into production To Apply Submit your resume and a brief note about your background and describe why you would be an excellent fit with our team.
