Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chimney Sweep/Fireplace Contractor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining chimneys and fireplaces to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help homeowners and commercial clients enjoy cozy, safe fireplaces while preventing fire hazards and ensuring proper ventilation. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems using specialized tools and techniques. Perform cleaning procedures to remove soot, creosote buildup, blockages, and debris from flues and chimney interiors. Repair or replace damaged chimney components such as liners, caps, crowns, bricks, or mortar to restore safety and functionality. Install new chimney systems or fireplaces according to blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Interpret construction plans and technical drawings to ensure proper installation and repair of masonry structures. Adhere strictly to safety protocols while working at heights on scaffolding or ladders, operating heavy equipment as needed. Provide detailed reports on inspection findings, repairs performed, and recommendations for ongoing maintenance or upgrades. Qualifications Proven experience in masonry work including stone masonry, bricklaying, mortar work, stucco application, and concrete finishing. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and construction scaffolding building. Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings (schematics), and construction plans. Familiarity with building material installation such as metal studs framing or tile laying is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprint specifications accurately for masonry or renovation projects. Experience with construction site safety protocols including OSHA standards or equivalent safety guidelines. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on precision craftsmanship in renovation or new installations.
