Apex Contractors LLC seeks a full-time, permanent Tile and Stone Setter. Install natural stone and tile materials, including marble, granite, travertine, limestone, and other dimensional stone, for interior and exterior residential construction projects. Measure and mark surfaces according to layout specifications. Cut and shape tile and stone materials using hand and power tools. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate mortars and adhesives. Set and secure tile and stone materials on floors, walls, countertops, patios, and exterior surfaces. Ensure proper alignment, spacing, leveling, and finishing. Apply grout and sealants. Inspect completed work for quality and maintain tools, equipment, and safe work practices. Requires 24 months of experience as a Tile and Stone Setter.

Work location:

Summerville and project locations within the Charleston-North Charleston, SC, area. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute tile and stone layouts. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate adhesives or mortar for optimal adhesion. Install various types of tiles and stones, including ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, and other natural or manufactured materials. Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and set tiles according to specifications. Measure dimensions precisely with tape measures and other tools to ensure proper fitment and alignment. Follow blueprint specifications closely while adhering to safety standards on the construction site. Perform related tasks such as caulking, grouting, sealing, gutter installation, drywall finishing, plastering, stucco application, fixture installation, cabinet hanging, door hanging, flooring installation, and general building material installation. Assist with construction management tasks like estimating materials needed using construction estimating techniques. Conduct quality inspections during installation to ensure durability and visual appeal meet project standards. Collaborate with team members including plumbers and electricians when integrating tile work with plumbing or electrical fixtures. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly.
