OBJECTIVES
Perform all tile installation work to ANB Construction's premium standard, including surface preparation, layout planning, tile cutting, setting, grouting, sealing, and finishing on residential remodeling and renovation projects. Prepare all substrates thoroughly before installation, ensuring surfaces are clean, level, and properly waterproofed to provide a solid and lasting foundation for every tile application. Plan tile layout accurately for each project, accounting for pattern alignment, symmetry, grout joint consistency, and the client's design preferences before any material is set. Cut all tile materials accurately using wet saws and appropriate cutting tools, applying the precision required to achieve clean lines, accurate fits, and a finished result that meets the project specifications. Apply setting materials including thinset, mortar, and adhesives correctly for each tile type and substrate, following manufacturer guidelines and ANB Construction's quality standards to ensure full coverage and lasting adhesion. Install grout, caulk, and sealants to the correct specification for each project, maintaining consistent joint width, proper tooling, and complete coverage that protects the installation and delivers a finished appearance that exceeds client expectations. Inspect all completed work thoroughly before closing out a project area, verifying that tile alignment, grout lines, waterproofing, and finish quality meet ANB Construction's premium standard before any area is signed off. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; completion of a tile setting apprenticeship or vocational training in a related trade strongly preferred. 2 or more years of proven experience in residential tile installation required, with demonstrated ability to work independently on full projects from surface preparation through finished installation. Proficiency with wet saws, angle grinders, and all standard tile cutting and installation tools required. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret project plans, design specifications, and tile layout drawings required. Experience with a wide range of tile materials including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, glass, and large-format tile required. Solid knowledge of substrate preparation, waterproofing systems, and moisture management in wet areas required. Experience applying thinset, mortar, adhesives, grout, caulk, and sealants correctly across a variety of tile types and substrate conditions required. Ability to plan and execute tile layouts with precision, ensuring proper pattern alignment, symmetry, and consistent grout joint spacing required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to kneel, crouch, bend, and work at floor level for extended periods throughout the full workday in the performance of tile installation duties. Must be able to lift and carry tile materials, setting materials, and equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions within residential construction and renovation sites, including confined spaces and areas with dust, adhesives, and chemical agents. Must have sufficient manual dexterity and hand strength to operate tile cutting tools, trowels, and installation equipment with the precision the role requires. Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, and transition between positions for up to a full eight-hour shift and perform pushing and pulling as required by the installation process.
