Costello Masonry is seeking a dependable and motivated Entry-Level Chimney Sweep to join our chimney services team. Additional on-the-job training will become available after introductory period. This is a hands-on, field-based position working at customers' homes throughout the day. The successful candidate will learn how to perform chimney sweeps, conduct inspections, identify potential safety and repair concerns, prepare inspection reports, and communicate professionally with customers. We are looking for someone who has a strong work ethic, is willing to learn a skilled trade, takes pride in their work, and is interested in developing a long-term career in the chimney and masonry industry. Responsibilities Learn to perform residential chimney and fireplace sweeps and inspections. Travel to customers' homes to complete scheduled daily service appointments. Assist with and eventually independently perform chimney cleaning and inspection services. Learn how to identify creosote buildup, blockages, deterioration, structural concerns, and other potential chimney and fireplace safety issues. Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports documenting findings, services performed, and recommended follow-up work. Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding services performed and inspection findings. Learn to identify chimney and fireplace repairs that may be needed. Assist with the installation and repair of chimney caps, liners, dampers, crowns, and other chimney components. Assist with minor masonry, sealing, and chimney repair work as needed. Properly use and maintain chimney cleaning equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Follow company procedures, safety requirements, building codes, and industry standards. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner. Provide courteous and respectful service while working in and around customers' homes. Qualifications Minimum of two years Chimney and Construction experience Interest in learning a skilled trade and becoming a Certified Chimney Sweep . Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and develop the skills to work independently. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to learn how to prepare clear and accurate inspection reports. Strong attention to detail. Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools. Comfortable working outdoors and at varying heights. Ability to safely use ladders and work on or around residential roofs as required. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and working in confined or limited spaces. Professional demeanor and good customer service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required. Construction, masonry, roofing, carpentry, mechanical, or other skilled-trade experience is helpful.
