Since 1984, ECA has led the design and implementation of high-quality energy conservation, education, and home repair initiatives to eliminate energy burden and stabilize low-income families in their homes and communities.

Position Summary:

The Weatherization Installer is an integral part of the Conservation Department at ECA. This role interfaces directly with clients in homes and must therefore demonstrate professionalism, strong customer service, and a growing weatherization skill set. A successful candidate will be a reliable, responsible, and a team player, reporting to field supervisor, program manager, and director as needed. The weatherization installer must be willing to learn and upgrade their certifications as required for department needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform energy-efficiency installations and treatments, including air sealing, insulation, pipe wrap, tank wrap, doors, windows, insulation partitions, and drywall ceilings and walls. Perform physical activities that require climbing, lifting, balancing, kneeling, and stooping, and safe handling of construction materials. Perform duties using Safe Work Practices such as OSHA 10 or 30 Construction. Perform duties according to the Pennsylvania Standard Work Specification and use this as a work guide. Safely handle 40' or smaller extension ladders and step ladders. Keep company vehicles and jobsites clean and safe, restock vehicles at the end of the day, ensure vehicle and equipment safety, and practice safe driving at all times. Communicate effectively with fellow crew, staff, and clients. Participate in company mandated training and recertification as required.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or G.E.D. Technical training diploma; BPI certification preferred, such as Building Analyst Technician (BA-T), OSHA 10, or OSHA 30 Construction. Competency in Lead Safe Work Practices. Good communication skills (written and verbal), and strong math skills. Basic carpentry skills with experience in framing, insulation and air sealing as well as some knowledge of electrical, plumbing and masonry. Working knowledge of math and science, as well as the competency to read and report accurate measurements using a tape measure. Working knowledge in materials and methods in the use of electrical and manual hand tools in construction and repair of residential homes. Competency with the Blower Door is preferred. You must be physically fit to carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. up three flights of stairs. Ability to learn on the job as well as in future training. Must be able to follow all ECA Safety and personnel policies. Must be able to pass the required training within the first 90 days of employment. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Work Experience:

At least one year of previous work experience in weatherization, construction or home remodeling or related work preferred. Other duties as assigned. Energy Coordinating Agency is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
