Responsibilities Assess building structures to determine appropriate weatherization measures, including insulation installation and air sealing. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to accurately follow project specifications. Install various types of insulation such as fiberglass, foam, or cellulose in walls, attics, floors, and crawl spaces. Use hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders, and metal stud framing equipment safely and effectively on construction sites. Follow strict safety protocols related to ladder use, power tool operation, scaffolding assembly, and site hazard mitigation. Conduct building assessments to identify areas needing repair or modification like drywall patching, caulking, trim carpentry, or masonry work. Fabricate custom components or modifications as needed for insulation or weatherization projects using basic construction techniques. Maintain clear communication with clients about project progress and address any questions or concerns professionally. Skills Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding equipment, ladders, and safety gear for climbing and working at heights. Mechanical knowledge related to building systems such as HVAC components or ventilation ducts is a plus. Experience with building insulation installation techniques including air sealing and caulking for energy efficiency improvements. Familiarity with schematics for electrical or mechanical systems relevant to weatherization projects. Construction site experience with skills in drywall installation, plastering, stucco application, framing (including metal studs), masonry work, and fabricating custom parts. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and estimations during installation tasks. Knowledge of safety protocols related to power tool safety, ladder use, scaffold assembly, and general construction site hazards. Excellent client communication skills to explain project details clearly and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude.
