A Retrofit Installer Technician must be able to perform the followings tasks and any other tasks required. A Retrofit Installer Technician must be able to perform his or her tasks in all types of weather and at times under adverse site-specific conditions.
Task I:
Maintain Safety 1. Follow work rules of jurisdiction having authority 2. Handle materials/equipment according to manufacturer specifications 3. Handle tools according to manufacturer specifications.
Task II:
Prepare for the Job (before arriving at the job site) 1. Attend Trainings 2. Gather materials and supplies 3. Gather Tools
Task III:
Prepare and Maintain Tools and Materials On-site 1. Set up tools 2. Set up materials
Task IV:
Prepare and Maintain Job Site 1. Attend job site safety meeting 2. Implement safety protocol (rigging, ventilation, blocking) 3. Use protective barriers (drop cloths) 4. Report preexisting conditions (that are not in scope) 5. Protect exterior environment
Task V:
Implement Work Scope 1. Locate specific work areas 2. Verify access to work areas 3. Install air sealing measures 4. Install loose fill insulation 5. Install or patch moisture barriers 6. Rough in mechanical ventilation systems 7. Identify mechanical systems 8. Identify combustion appliance safety hazards 9. Install dense pack insulation 10. Install windows and doors 11. Identify electrical installation needs (rough-in, fans) 12. Identify plumbing installation needs 13. Identify/install roofing and flashing installation needs 14. Clean as you go (organize) 15. Address deviations from work scope
Task VI:
Wrap Up 1. Pick up tools and materials 2. Clean up and close out 3. Participate in crew debriefing (after action review, post construction job review)```Duties```
- Install and assemble equipment according to specifications and blueprints
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on installed equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and perform necessary repairs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient installation and operation of equipment
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines during installation and maintenance processes
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and questions Qualifications
- A Retrofit Installer Technician must demonstrate a capacity to learn or obtain the skills necessary to perform the tasks above.
- Ability to work in a team setting with limited supervision.
- Ability to understand instructions and accept training in new techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with co-workers, clients, vendors, subcontractors, government officials, and other contacts.
- Ability to accept and serve clients of various economic, ethnic, social, mental, and medical backgrounds.
- Physical ability to complete construction related tasks such as; bending, stooping, sitting, walking, seeing, hearing, crouching, kneeling, driving, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ability for prolonged standing, sitting, and driving.
- Ability to work in uncontrolled environments such as noisy, dusty, stressful, fumy, and unsanitary.
- Ability to enter confined, poorly lit, dirty, and dusty environments.
- Ability to work on ladders of all types, roof tops, and in cramped spaces.
- Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment after completing fit testing and other types of PPE.
- Willingness to travel to assist other offices and/or training purposes.
- Ability and willingness to obtain Lead Certification, OSHA 10, ASHRAE 62.
2 and other certifications that may be required by Wyoming Weatherization Services, State of Wyoming Department of Family Services or Department of Energy.
